Just found these great prints from a magazine from 1950. The focus is on light & living with all the mod-cons of a modern (then futuristic) look. You will notice some of the extras added to the house nothing too out of this world, a bar, movie & tv room then look in the gaqrage area, space for your car & helicopter! The architect was Sherwood, Mills & Smith with renderings by GCR (George Cooper Randolph Associates). The boys at M.I.T. cooked this up with the idea of an all year round escape feel and the esthetics effect of human emotion. Take a look
I love the house with the round roof and the tree growing up through it.
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of the Thunderbirds house, I love the underground level, cheers Katherine
ReplyDeleteI love it. It's the future I want to live in.
